What is Desvenlafaxine? Desvenlafaxine (brand name: Pristiq), is an antidepressant of the serotonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor (SNRI). Desvenlafaxine affects chemicals in the brain that may be unbalanced in people with depression. Desvenlafaxine is used to treat major depressive disorder. Desvenlafaxine may also be used for purposes not listed in this medication guide.

  • 50 mg orally once a day, with or without food
  • Maximum dose: 400 mg/day
