Tradjenta is the brand name of the prescription drug linagliptin, which is used along with diet and exercise to lower blood sugar in people with type 2 diabetes. Tradjenta is in a class of medicines known as dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitors. It works by increasing your body’s level of incretin hormones, natural substances that lower blood sugar.

Tradjenta dosage. Recommended dose: 5 mg orally once a day. When used in combination with insulin or an insulin secretagogue, a lower dose of the insulin secretagogue or insulin may be necessary to reduce the risk of hypoglycemia.
